January marks an important inflection point for Mplify and for the broader connectivity ecosystem.
As AI-driven services scale, predictable performance, interoperability, and transparency across increasingly complex, multi-domain environments are no longer optional—they are foundational. This month, Mplify is addressing that shift with the evolution of our Carrier Ethernet Certification program, extending the industry’s most widely adopted Ethernet benchmark through Carrier Ethernet for Business and the upcoming Carrier Ethernet for AI, supporting both established enterprise connectivity and emerging AI and agentic AI workloads.
Insight from GNE 2025 reinforce why this evolution matters: as AI systems become more persistent, distributed, and autonomous, the network has emerged as both the critical constraint and strategic enabler of AI at scale.

The Network is the Foundation for the Agentic AI Era
The industry is moving beyond traditional machine learning and generative AI toward agentic AI, where persistent systems of AI agents operate continuously across cloud, edge, and global infrastructures. This shift fundamentally changes network requirements. AI is no longer a series of isolated transactions; it is a distributed, always-on system that demands deterministic, programmable, and federated connectivity across providers.
Insights from GNE 2025 reinforce a clear signal: as investment in GPUs and data centers accelerates, connectivity has emerged as both the primary bottleneck and the greatest strategic opportunity. Supporting agentic AI at scale requires transport technologies such as wavelengths and Carrier Ethernet working together within a Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) model, delivering assured performance, automation, and interoperability across the global digital ecosystem.
