Building on the direction established in Lisbon, four days of Member Workdays, demonstrations, and Summit discussions showed tangible progress and clarified what it will take to scale automated services across organizations. For members, the opportunity is practical: meet new AI infrastructure demands, expand partner reach, and reduce friction in service delivery. Explore the takeaways below, then revisit the sessions and work shaping these opportunities. Access Recordings & Presentations → Mplify committee leaders shared progress across NaaS for AI, NaaS Federation, Agentic LSO, and cybersecurity certification. The discussion also examined new approaches to member collaboration and moving priority work from roadmap to implementation. FOUR TAKEAWAYS FROM BOSTON 1️⃣ AI is reshaping NaaS from both directions AI is being applied to service delivery, network operations, security, and orchestration. At the same time, AI training, inference, fine-tuning, and data movement are creating distinct requirements for bandwidth, latency, determinism, locality, resilience, and security.   As AI infrastructure becomes more distributed, networks will face growing pressure to match the flexibility of compute with services that can be discovered, provisioned, scaled, modified, and assured on demand. This makes AI-ready networking an important new area of differentiation.   2️⃣ Agentic LSO is advancing from demonstrations toward implementation Since Lisbon, Mplify’s Agentic LSO work has added trouble ticketing, capability statements that describe supported functions, and stronger controls for agent interactions with MCP servers. Boston also featured member demonstrations exploring agent-to-agent communications and trusted workflows across organizations.   Scaling these approaches requires clear rules for agent identity, delegated authority, authorization, auditability, and human approval. The architecture, blueprint, and member demonstrations are helping define how those controls can work in practice.   3️⃣ NaaS Federation targets the barriers to scaling collaboration Successful automation with selected partners provides a foundation for broader collaboration. Scaling it requires buyers and sellers to align on products, business processes, supported functions, and implementation readiness.   Mplify’s developing NaaS Federation work focuses initially on helping members discover qualified partners and assess their capabilities, supported services, and automation readiness. Members would control the visibility of their information and retain direct commercial and operational relationships.   Equinix and Colt’s marketplace collaboration illustrated the value of easier partner discovery and automated commercial interactions, offering a practical example of the outcomes Federation aims to support.   4️⃣ Broader adoption brings lifecycle gaps into focus More than 100 service providers are committed to or in production with standardized Mplify LSO APIs, including more than 60 involved in direct LSO-to-LSO implementations.   Commercial functions such as address validation, product offering qualification, quote, and order are further advanced than operational capabilities such as performance monitoring and fault management. Direct APIs, portals, marketplaces, adapters, and other digital interaction models will continue to coexist as organizations progress at different speeds. MEMBER WORKDAYS: TURNING PRIORITIES INTO ACTION Members advanced the standards, architecture, implementation guidance, and certification work needed to deliver trusted, interoperable services across organizations.   Boston sessions covered: Agentic LSO architecture, blueprints, and trusted-agent interactions NaaS Federation requirements and qualified partner discovery Network requirements for AI training and inference Carrier Ethernet, SD-WAN, SSE, and Zero Trust testing and certification Emerging requirements for AI security and agentic trust Help shape the next steps: contribute deployment requirements to NaaS for AI, explore the Agentic LSO blueprint, or bring partner discovery and onboarding requirements to the Federation project.   Find a Project & Get Involved → ON THE HORIZON Insights from Boston will inform two upcoming Mplify research reports.  Scaling NaaS Automated Network Service Supply Chains, targeted for launch 18 November, will examine partner reach, lifecycle depth, transaction models, interoperability, buyer-seller alignment, and readiness for more advanced automation.  Mplify’s NaaS for AI research, coming in January 2027, will explore how AI is changing network requirements, why AI-ready networking is becoming an area of differentiation, and how NaaS must evolve to support distributed AI infrastructure.  Explore Mplify Research → CELEBRATING NaaS EXCELLENCE The 2026 NaaS Excellence Awards recognized organizations and individuals delivering meaningful progress across AI-driven NaaS, automation, interconnection, secure connectivity, and industry leadership.   Professional honors were presented to Ron Insler of RAD, Jeremy Villalobos of Orchest Technologies, Dan Pitt of Palo Alto Innovation Advisors, and Mplify CTO Pascal Menezes, who received the inaugural Nan Chen Vanguard Award.
